Tours and Tickets
OCTOBER 2013 UPDATE: The White House will make limited tours available starting November 5, 2013.
Please note: on March 5, 2013, the White House Visitors Office (WHVO), which is run by the Obama Administration, informed Congressional offices that all confirmed and pending White House tours are cancelled until further notice. While WHVO claims “staffing reductions resulting from sequestration” caused the cancellation of White House tours, it does not appear that suspending these tours, which are self-guided, saves significant tax dollars. This is why I, along with 55 of my colleagues, wrote to President Obama on March 7, 2013, expressing our concern over this decision and directly asking the President why the public is being denied access to one of the most popular public buildings in the nation. I am very concerned that the President is using these tours to make a political point.
All tickets are provided to my constituents on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large number of visitors, please request them as early as possible in order to maximize your chances. For information on sightseeing and attractions, please visit my Washington, DC Tourism Information page.
