Griffin Joins ‘Arkansans in Mourning’ the Loss of SGT Jamar A. Hicks

LITTLE ROCK – Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement after learning of the passing of SGT Jamar A. Hicks, of Little Rock, who was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division:

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of SGT Jamar A. Hicks.  He dedicated his life to defending the freedom we all enjoy, and today, I join Arkansans in mourning his death and expressing our eternal gratitude to his family for his ultimate sacrifice.”

SGT Hicks was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom when he was wounded from indirect enemy fire.  He was evacuated to Forward Operating Base Salerno in Khost, Afghanistan, where he later passed.  Hicks was 22 years old.
